Founded in 1992, in Carleton, this business is the oldest pre-fab housing company located in the Gaspé Peninsula. Paradoxically, although the oldest of its kind, it is astonishingly youthful. It was born of the determination of a group of young Gaspé Peninsula residents who wanted to work in the region and create their own jobs. The spirited team is made up of over twenty employees, most of whom are not yet thirty years old, under the leadership of a company head in his early thirties.
The rapid growth of Les Habitations Mont Carleton necessitated the implementation of a night shift in 1995. In 1997, the purchasing of new sophisticated equipment doubled the production capacity. Since then, more specialized methods of fabrication and technology contributed to diversify and refine the production allowing the company to stand out with the most important fabricators of homes in the Eastern Quebec region.
